February 21, 2014
Toyota has revealed images of the all new Aygo Supermini ahead of its official debut at Geneva Motor Show in March. The new Aygo has received two new engines: 1.0 and 1.2-litre three-cylinder engines. All these engines have CO2 emissions under 100g/km, a larger and more outstanding front grille with a large central Toyota badge. Day time running lights are very bright. The rest of the Aygo is also likely to feature idiosyncratic approach, in order to make it noticeable in a sector where cars like Fiat 500 and new MINI lead the way. Renault's new Twingo, is also geared up for its public debut in Geneva, and is set to instigate into the same Supermini market. Toyota is likely to present a finest look all the way through in the new Aygo, in order to perk up the chances of success in the most competitive city car sector. The all new Peugeot will be launched as a predetermined fixed roof hatch and with a peel back fabric roof, just like the Fiat 500C but it is not obvious whether Toyota is loading the Aygo with same kind of body styles. However, we can anticipate that Aygo will share its mainstream components with the 108. The Aygo is a very smart city car with a kerb weight of around 840kgs, which is 90kg less than the VW Up! another well reputed city car. Like the preceding generations of Aygo, the new model will be built in the Czech Republic together with its Citroën C1 and Peugeot 108 corresponding models.
