Toyota Lucida Diesel Engine
January 23, 2013
Most of the Toyota Lucida owners complain about their diesel engine getting overheated and cracked. Lucida is very similar to Toyota Previa, Toyota Estima and Toyota Emina, all of them are built on the same platform, but the only difference lies in the interior. The Previa has a wide and Estima and others have a narrow bodyshell. Having an imported Lucida is better than having a local one as it comes with dual front and rear air conditioning, reverse sensors, CD player and electric curtains. This generous kit is hard to be found in UK versions. Toyota Lucida is offered in both petrol and diesel variations. The diesel engine for Toyota Lucida drives smoothly. So when you treat it like a sports engine, it overheats and results in cracking the cylinder head. Normally it happens when the maintenance is poor or you over work the Toyota Lucida engine. Anti-freeze to water should also be kept correct at all times. Ignition faults and electrical faults are accounted for in petrol engines.
