January 16, 2014
GT86 is ready to unveil in 2015. The GT86 based four-door saloon will have an extended wheelbase with 100mm length and traits Toyota’s dedicated gaze grille that endeavours to impersonate the profile of a Samurai sword. The GT86 is powered by a 2.0-liter boxer engine of 200hp and in 2015 it will be presented together with a Hybrid R power unit. This new unit is rated at approximately 260 hp. It has fuel economy up to 15 percent better than its petrol powered fellow unit. The boxer engine in the GT86 known by the Toyota code 4U-GSE and same engine is used in the Subaru models as well with Subaru code FA20. Actually it is a naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that uses Subaru's horizontally contrasting boxer engine layout that runs on gasoline fuel. It is equipped with Toyota’s D-4S injection system to offer both direct and port injection to the engine. It uses a 12.5:1 compression ratio with 86 mm (3.4 in) long stroke and same bore size that returns a power punch of 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 Lb-Ft of torque at even less engine rpm. Toyota is concentrating on light weight vehicle strategy and as part of the 86's low weight invent, the GT86 utilizes an aluminium top, a rock hard crown, and a boot as different to a hatchback. The boxer engine sits far back and as near to the ground as possible in the engine bay. It offers an excellent weight distribution of 53%: 47% in the front and rear respectively. Engine sits near to ground provides a lower centre of gravity. It allows the engine to sit lower than the Nissan GTR and just 0.6 inches higher than the Lexus LFA. There are two 6-speed transmissions built by Aisin are offered on the GT, a manual gearbox and an automatic transmission bespoke from the Lexus IS-F but with the difference of two gears. The automatic transmission uses three different modes: Sport, Snow, and Normal
