The new Toyota RAV4 Arrives at UK Shores

The new Toyota RAV4 has been released in UK with hybrid model following soon after.

The latest version of the famous compact SUV has a new 2.0-litre D-4D diesel and an improved 2.0-litre petrol engine with lower CO emissions and better fuel economy.

Engines

The new four-cylinder diesel with a six-speed manual gearbox develops 141bhp. The front-wheel drive RAV4 has a claimed fuel return of 60.1mpg with of 123g/km. The 2.0-litre Valvematic engine produces 149bhp and is rated at 43.5mpg with a CO2 figure of 152g/km. The new 2.5-litre hybrid models, the first time the RAV4 has been fitted with a petrol-electric powertrain, will be priced from £26,195 to £30,795.

Price

It is priced from £23,695 and comes with the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with seven-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker audio system with DAB radio, rear-view camera, cruise control, air con and 17-inch alloys. Petrol models are all-wheel-drive and are fitted with CVT gearboxes costing from £28,295 and five trim levels are on offer with the range topping out at £29,295.

Trendsetter

Toyota RAV4 which will be 20 years old in 2016, is responsible for giving rise to the compact SUV segment. Although it was unique when it was launched, but now every manufacturer is in the segment.

New Exterior

The exterior has been revised styling with a more aggressive face, but the bigger news is addition of the RAV4 Hybrid. This is the seventh electrically-assisted vehicle in the carmaker’s current lineup.

Hybrid Version

The new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid comes equipped with a 2.5-litre petrol engine, plus a powerful electric motor offering an immediate hit of power when needed most. The model can go from 0-62mph in just 8.7 seconds, yet keeps CO2 emissions as low as 115g/km and returns up to a class-leading 57.7mpg combined.
